These hammered, riveted copper bookends were entirely handmade by me in my Connecticut studio. A pair of copper bookends with a subtle Gothic arch. Constructed with handmade rivets and an array of colors and textures. The decorative overlay, with its random ripples and curves, was made by first stretching the copper over a rounded surface and then pounding it flat. The patina ranges from aqua blue and green to spring green to yellow, with a base of gray-brown and touches of natural copper. A museum-quality sealant means that the patina will remain stable. These bookends are small but mighty, four inches tall by four inches wide, with a four-inch plate that extends underneath the books. Incredibly strong and durable and completely functional. Inspired by Arts & Crafts era copper craft. Price includes both bookends.
