The sun ring. A sparkling peach-colored sapphire is bezel-set in durable, tarnish-resistant argentium silver. The sun's rays are delicate, subtle lines of milgrain. A tiny afterimage glows in 24-karat gold. The low-dome band has a hammered finish that complements the hammered edge ofthe backplate.
To achieve the padparadscha color, this natural sapphire has been heated with beryllium, using a technique pioneered by Thai gemologists. The treatment is safe and permanent.
I use only argentium sterling silver in my jewelry. Argentium sterling silver is a hypoallergenic alloy of silver. It contains more pure silver than ordinary sterling (93.5%). It contains no nickel. It is very durable, and unlike ordinary sterling silver, it is tarnish-resistant.
