Oak leaf pendant in argentium sterling silver
Oak leaf pendant in argentium sterling silver
Did you know that trees can have differently shaped leaves depending on the leaf's location on the tree and exposure to sunlight? This is a shade leaf on the white oak. The white oak is a keystone species. As well as feeding various animals with its acorns, the white oak is host to hundreds of species of butterflies and moths.
This delicate, lightweight pendant was hand-cut from a sheet of argentium sterling silver and shaped using the fold-forming method. The 18-inch chain has a handmade clasp.
I use only argentium sterling silver in my jewelry. Argentium sterling silver is hypoallergenic. It contains more pure silver than ordinary sterling (93.5% or 94%, vs. a minimum of 92% for other sterling). It contains no nickel. It is very durable, and unlike ordinary sterling silver, it is tarnish-resistant.
