Handmade jewelry in sold gold is truly something to treasure. This delicate, asymmetrical padparadscha sapphire charm pendant was entirely handmade by me in my Connecticut studio. All elements in the pendant are solid 14 karat yellow gold. The chain is 14 karat gold-filled, although a solid gold chain can be substituted on request.
The stone is an unheated pink sapphire with shades of orange and purple in an oval cut. This color has become known as "padparadscha." Padparadscha sapphires gained renewed popularity after the British royal Princess Eugenie received a padparadscha sapphire engagement ring. Like all my sapphires, the sapphire in this pendant has character (or "flaws"), but with the unique sparkle of an unheated sapphire, it is truly exceptional. The sapphire hangs at an angle, adding a distinctive touch of style to this dainty necklace.
