Long bar earrings in pure argentium silver. These earrings are two inches long with a subtle brushed finish.
These earrings are entirely solder-free, so if you are sensitive to the metals in solder, you're in luck! Solder contains silver, copper, and zinc, and the additional metals lower the melting point so that solder flows, or melts, at a lower temperature than the main metal and forms a bond with it as it cools. Most silver jewelry is soldered, particularly sterling silver. Argentium silver is much simpler to heat, so an alternative technique, called fusing, can be used.
Every element in these earrings is fused. The only metal used is pure argentium. Instead of using a tiny bit of argentium silver solder to join the components of the pendant, I heat the two elements until the metal itself flows at the surface and creates a bond.
The earrings have been heat-hardened. They are exceptionally durable and tarnish-resistant. Since they are made from argentium silver, they are hypoallergenic.
These earrings are also available in 1/2-inch and 1 3/4-inch lengths, with other lengths available as custom orders.
